I am a teacher, but do not really want to teach while I have children. I plan to have my first child soon and I would like to leave the classroom, but stay in the education field. Any suggestions?

You could try writing a book, or doing some distance-education courses on education..

You could even enroll for being a distance-education tutor for some virtual university too, and you could teach from your comp at home that way.

You could tutor some kids at home too...

Tutoring, babysitting, working for an after-school homework help center... like a learning center, working at a library, working with community outreach programs like The United Way, or Project Head Start, teaching visiting international students how to speak English or other social skills, part-time assistant teaching, substitute teaching... those are some that I can think of.

What about becoming a tutor?Like tutoring kids that are challenged in certain subjects.Or you could be one of those people who go see the student teachers to see how well they are doing and if they're ready to become a teacher.
