The dump truck will empty its load from the trailer and then pull forward a bit. It will then back up so that the empty trailer will turn to the side and then dump the second load. The second load will clear the metal bar and allow the truck to pull forward. The empty trailer behind will clear the second load dumped as the truck pulls away.

It is much easier to back up a trailer with a long neck on it.In addition it shift teh load back , balanceing the weight.
