Well, here is the problem. I have an AIM account. I have contacted a deparmtment at AOL but they said that they cannot cancel it and that it will expire due to inactivity possibly. So in a sense, I am forced to keep this account forever, because they may not delete it. What should I do to cancel my own AIM account?

Has anyone here ever had their AIM account cancelled? If so, how is it possible, considering that I emailed them again and they did not reply.

What, in the name of all that is good, are you on about?

If it's your account just cancel the thing.

If it's someone else's account then what legal reasons do you think you have for asking it to be closed.

Please add some more details to your question so we can understand it and hopefully help you.

..AOL is famous for this crap. They do not want to let you go. When i first got on line in the 90's and tried all the services that come on a PC, I was able to simply go on-line and cancel ...but not AOL..I had to call and what a call, I spent over two hours trying to cancel the crap they put on my PC..talk about Microsoft..AOL has crap you can not get rid of...You delete it and it still comes back..and AIM is the same!! It is AOL
Amateurs on line. AOL is fine for people that have no idea about the net...but why put it on every single PC sold???
Earthlink ...you can simply delete it...ATT delete no problem...ect...But NOT AOL... It lives on !! and it sucks..Microsoft was sued for including IE in its software,...Why? AOL pushes there crap on every single PC SOLD!!

you don't have to do anything but cancel it. There's nothing that they can do but just cancel it.
