Someone who likes to be alone. Can you blame them with all the crazy people out there? I find many intelligent are loners. Great saints and spiritual masters are generally loners but only associate with people to help them but otherwise they live alone. A friend of mine is a loner, she is not completely antisocial but she is not very gregarious, and I do believe she would prefer to be alone, or in very small groups as opposed to big groups. But she is very content to just sit home on a weekend, and read, watch TV whatever.

whether it be from choice or just shyness, a loner is someone who doesn't enjoy being around other people. they like to keep to themselves. they usually don't have too many friends.

A loner can also be some one that spends most, if not all of their time by themselves.
