Is it legal for a California company to state that an employee cannot take their two (2) weeks vacation in a row.

As far as I know there is no law requring that companies give vacation. If a company does, they can have rules for that vacation time as long as it is consistent across the company with each type of employee. Ex: a managerial position could have differnet rules than the low man on the totem pole, but all managers should have the same rules that govern.

Don't know about California, but at my job we can't have more than 4 days in a row. We end up taking our vacation time on holidays where we have multiple days off to begin with.

it depends on what type of company you are working for and how long you have been working there. but yes you are allowed to take your two weeks vacation after working for the company for some time Hope this helps

Well, i guess no matter which states you are from, it really depends on the agreement that you signed when you agreed to the job. Even if the state got no such rulings but your company contract does, you are still bound to it.

I am not sure, but I will be moving there on business for a while, I am hoping that is not true. Or California has some explaining to do.
