Well...I'm only 21, so I'm still considered a young person. From what I understand is that Democrats believe in a bigger government, with more help going to the poor and more government help for different groups. They have more taxes to support these programs. They also tend to be more liberal morally (support gay marriage, abortion, etc) Republicans like a smaller government, less helping programs, fewer taxes and are more conservative morally (anti abortion, antigay marriage etc) Many african americans, lower class, gay, etc people are democratic (liberal) and a lot of upper class, white men, religious people are republican (conservative) I personally am somewhat middle of the line (moderate) because I have the moral beliefs of a republican and the govermental (politcal, bigger government more help to the poor) of a democrat!

I relatively hate it that Obama supporters devour up each and every phrase that Obama says approximately difference while he in no way relatively says whatever different then we'd like difference. He doesn’t actually have a plan and he skirts round rather a couple of of questions with steady political speak that claims not anything. He is an overly well motivational speaker however in no way relatively says what his plans are. Yet persons are simply entranced with each and every phrase, Like they're listening to what they desire to listen to and now not even taking note of what he says?

Democrats believe the government is the solution, Republicans believe the individual is the solution.

Most are great answers but don't let the pro republican answers fool you on one issue....the current administration ( Republican) is the "biggest" and spendiest we have had in decades.
Also, a "tax increase" usually means a rollback of a loophole or two that the middle class could never take anyway.

Republicans are more conservative across the table like spending, social issues things like that. they tend to lean more to corporation interests.
democrats are more liberal with spending like for social programs for the low income group, more liberal with peoples rights such as gay issues, abortion things like that. Unfortunately there isn't anything down the middle both are extremes on the issues they believe in.
hope i helped.

Most Republicans believe what's mine is mine. They don't want to pay taxes to help others or for better roads. They usually want to privatize government to make it run cheaper, distrusting the government. They think corporations and business should pay less taxes to invest their money in other means. They think better medicines must cost more money so the big companies should charge more to create bigger research and development.
Most Democrats want to contribute and pay taxes for nicer roads and more public services. They usually think the richer individuals and corporations should pay more taxes since they have more money. They usually trust the government to do things right. They think healthcare should be more affordable for the little guy and research and development budgets should be less protectionist.
In a nutshell that's my opinion.

it really depends on what issues you think are important in life...
where do you think the most help is needed and what things should be done to make the world a better place?
in your answer to that question... your political affiliation will be revealed...
the most important to you...

You can start by looking at their websites:
https://www.gop.com/
http://www.democrats.org/
Also, you don't have to be either one, but in states where the primaries really count, you may want to. Being registered in a party, doesn't mean you have to vote strictly for that party either.
