I like my job. I love my customers. But I don't get paid much. I'm also disappointed in the people I work with. They say we are a family at my job. Not just a working family because we all are close to an extent. But I've been sick and out of work for a month. No one has called to check to see how I am. When somone else was out, I called all the time to check on her. I asked her if she needed anyting and I went to see her. Should I feel strange about why no one has called. Some have called but for other reasons, not just to see how I am doing. Now I feel uncomfortable about going back to work. Shoud I find a new job. I feel like I can't trust these so called friends I work with. Please give me some advice.

You are too needy. Do you think other people don't have anything more important in their lives than just to call and see how you are doing? You're a big boy, and you can handle a little time on your own. If you're sick, you should enjoy the down time.

I believe your disappointment from your co-workers is just a consequence from your disappointment from your job in general. Plus it is really a bad experience to be sick at home FOR A MONTH and not receive even a call from the people you spend your day with usually. I' d also feel bad. My advice is: once you have started considering chaining your job means that you really want it and need this change. go ahead and get on the market, look what you will find there and what your luck will show you and proceed accordinly.
Do not ever foret that you go to work to work and you have your friends on a side, so do not mix them, it will not work.
goodluck and let us know how you dealt with it.

Try not to be too hard on your co-workers. Many people now a days are so extremely busy. I do understand your concerns. I usually go with my gut feelings. Never leave a job, without another one to go to. It sounds like you are a pleasant person to work with. Many people don't appreciate co-workers like you. When and if you choose to return to work, go with your head up and take the high road. Do your job to the best of your ability and remember that office gossip and complaining for minor problems are always a negative. Good luck. Perhaps consider a job where you are your own boss. Sounds like you have the right compassion for that. I did and I am so happy and financially secure. Take care.

The same thing happened to me. I stayed where I was. I'm still there. I don't go out of my way to talk to anyone, and if one of them talks to me I am polite and pleasant but that's about it. It's just work to me. I go there, do my job the best that I can and then I leave. If you are truly bothered by it then you should look for a better higher paying job. I'm not unhappy there. I've never considered a coworker as a friend, but if you did, then I can see how that would make you a little resentful.
