I was diagnosed recently (one month ago) with sever hypertention (at the ripe age of 23) I was perscribed pills, but im not too keen on all the side effects. Im under an extreem amount of stress and its leading to the anxiety as well as aiding on the hypertention. I do meditation and try to relax with candels, exersize and baths etc...But its only a temperary fix. (Like its only relieved while doing the activity). Any ideas on alternative treatments??? Or any feedback on whats worked for anyone whos been through this???

You do know that high blood pressure WILL KILL you, right? My blood pressure was 220/180 right before my son was born. I had hypertension and was on drugs for

some time after that...This is the deal...if you are going to do the "alternative" route you have to stay on your meds EVERY day w/o fail while you do the alternative stuff EVERY day w/o fail...

Cut out salt and this means almost NEVER eating out...NO cigarrettes..little caffeine --Exercise-EVERY day and Meditate for at least 30 minutes two times EVERY day...no excuses...almost all people with high blood pressure from external causes(like stress)are also guilty of the lifestyle that raises blood pressure and stress and I know you KNOW what I am talking about..

Now a word about those drugs you're taking...for some reason(money) doctors today do not prescribe the old drugs like water pills eventhough it is documented that the originals work BETTER with fewer side effects than these new fancy things that put you in the hospital with NO blood pressure. It is your body ASK for the old stuff.

Try Massage Therapy It has been proven to seriously reduce stress and Anxiety as well as Hypertension.

I have suffered from Anxiety and Hypertension since i was 13 and I am 31 now. But since i have been getting Massages once a week I have not had one anxiety attack in over two years.
You can visit my website for more information on the different modalities, and what the benefits are of some of them most especially Swedish Massage.

im just wondering how long you were absent, and why you didnt have close friends or neighbors who could have contacted you, or why couldnt gwen herself have contacted you at some point before she got to ill to do so? also, why did this neighbor give gwen's family's address to the hospice--did gwen tell them to? why didnt gwen ask that you be contacted instead? were you somewhere where you were incommunicado? this story sounds full of holes to me. but if its a true account, then yes, by all means this is horrid and abominable treatment of a daughter.
