I have an old IBM thinkpad and it doesn't have an operating system. I was thinking of installing one but my laptop only has a floppy disk drive and not a cdrom. So my question is how would I go about installing an operating system on a laptop with no cdrom drive?

don't waste your time with it. Sorry but it is true. There are going to be a lot of laptop deals soon with the holidays and all. It would not be worth fixing.

(What is the model number?)/how old is it?

I would borrow a external cd drive from a friend. Or, buy on ebay for about 30 bucks.
