I used to believe hearsay but I grew up from all of that. I think that hearsay is so childish. People don't realize the power of their words and what those simple words can trigger inside of another human being or even theirself. I'd rather not even associate myself with hearsay, altogether.

I deal with hearsay all the time in my job.
How do I deal with it?
By listening attentively to every word that is spoken, then, after giving it the utmost thought, promptly dismissing every thing I heard.

hmmm... if I hear the exact same thing on numerous accounts from random people...perhaps...but it's a bad habit for all to believe hearsay :)
