I don't know why,but everybody and their mother just happens to show upn at MY house with a green bean casserole. What I haven't had in a while is those sweet potatoes with marshmallow topping.
How about crescent rolls, and real mashed potatoes(not from a box).
Let us not forget the cranberry sauce in a can, lol. The kids love to see it jiggle on the serving plate. One year I forgot and the whole family acted like I stood on the table and pee'd on everthing.

i think of she is ridiculous. Asking you to hold wine OR one component dish OR a dessert or something is acceptable, in case you're close kinfolk or in case you ask or if she makes it clean up front that it somewhat is a pot success dinner. And lasagna is a complicated meal all on it is very own! i do no longer think of it is truthful; she's over-doing it yet she's putting the burden on her customer. regardless of the undeniable fact that it comes right down to this-- do you desire to threat insulting her? Or do you desire to easily grin and bear it? i think you are able to consult together with her and clarify which you had no longer estimated the time or cost in touch in cooking something like lasagna and which you at the instant are not as much because it, yet which you would be happy to hold the wine and a facet dish. yet you be attentive to her extra useful, will this insult her?

It depends on how many people are there. The more people there are, the greater chance of having lots of green beans, mashed potatoes and candied yams.

It might be nice to bring something lighter, like a salad or mixed vegetables, crudites, etc.

Of course, you can never have too much pie...

Devilled eggs. I just finished making a batch for our office Thanksgiving potluck tomorrow....and I'm no cook. They take a little time, but everyone loves them!
