I tried Proactiv and it didn't work for me either. I too don't have horrible acne but there too many pimples than I want there to be. I started using the Acnefree system and it cleaned up my face and got rid of existing pimples and I haven't gotten a pimple since. Try it, it's incredibly inexpensive, around 15 bucks, you can find it at Target, Walmart. They also have an 8 ounce version at Sam's Club, which is what I use. And they have a week free trial kit on their website acnefree.com (you have to pay for shipping). Good luck!

Well Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser or the Clear Complexion cleansing bar is pretty nice, they also have an astringent you can follow with, and the soy in Aveeno products softens your skin. Although Neutrogena has quite a few good astringents, as well as good non-comedogenic fragrance- free moisturizers. Something to consider is how often you wash your face a day. I don't know how often you do, but I sometimes hear people say they cleanse it 3 times daily- that is usually too much, it will strip you of oils completely only dry out your skin, causing it to react with even more pimples. You should probably just wash it at night after you take off your makeup, then splash your face with just water in the morning and use the astringent. Unless you do sports/sweat alot during the day, then a second time with cleanser is probably ok. Another thing you should definately use is a good face mask, that you spread and dries onto your face, Queen Helene Mint Julep face mask is wonderful, use it only once a week, or twice a week if needed. And like someone else mentioned, mineral makeup is the absolute best type of makeup for your skin. Bare Minerals isn't the only brand now, if you dont want to spend that much $$, check Physician's Formula mineral makeup.

I have just started getting a little bit of acne now at the age of 26. I've tried a lot of different face washes and this week I just found what I think works the best. It's the old school Neutrogena bar soap that's a see-through orange color. I have sensitive skin that gets dried out really easy, but this makes your skin feel super-clean without drying it out too much. I know they make a liquid pump of the same stuff, but I haven't tried that yet, so I don't know if it works the same. My few pimples seem to be clearing up quicker than with other face washes.

I use a glycerin soap - it is very gentle and still gets my face clean.

I have to say I get really angry with all this Proactiv stuff because it does not work. Big stars are being paid big bucks to read a script.

Acne is hormonal. To get rid of acne you need a dermatologist. Been there done that and had acne late in my 20's from getting off birth control pills. The thing is, that it is easily cleared up with medication.

First off acne is not caused by food. so eat what you want. I had the same problem. I started using Clinique Mild face wash and i have better skin than i have in years. I also use Bare Minerals for make up. it doesnt clog your pores like most makeup, i can even sleep in it and not worry about breaking out. And do drink plenty of water. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I've only had luck with 2 products. Neutrogena's Rapid Clear and Avon's Clearskin. I use the Neutrogena Rapid Clear pads 3 times per day. I also started using St. Ives Apricot scrub in the tub, not tube. Helped wonders!

Depends on what type of skin you have. Use a herbal face wash. Dont use any of the cosmetic ones. Clean your face 2-3 times a day with cleansing water.
Drink lotsa water. Avoid fatty foods. Hope this helps.

nothing has worked better foe me than the good ol' panoxyl benzoyl peroxide face bar, followed by amlactin 12% moisture lotion.

I've had acne all my adult life - until now. I've been using this treatment, recommended by my dermatologist, for almost 2 months now, and I can;t beleive the results! I've never had clearer skin...NEVER!

It took about 10 days to really notice the difference.

St Ives apricot face wash blemish and blackhead control. It is the one that comes in the pump bottle. It leaves your face super clean and tight. I use it everyday and follow up with a moisturizer.
