before you post hateful responses gavin c i suggest you check your premises... what your "cooperation" is doing in iraq is worsening the crisis not helping it... i in no way associate myself as an american... i simply live here and want another opinion...

The electoral system over here is subtly different to the US but not so bad that you'd lose sleep. The big difference is that we don't elect our PM, we elect a government (think - party) and the leader of the majority is normally "requested" by Her Majesty to form a government, but this is not written down in our constitution, as we don't have a written constitution. I've had HUGE rants at the current leader of the opposition, but I must admire him for this statement:
"The constitution of the United Kingdom is whatever The Queen says it is".
Legally, that is 100% correct.
Our current government (ruling party, blair's thugs) were elected based on 21% (or so, don't flame me over a percentage point) of the valid electorate. A lot of people simply don't bother to vote because they're all crooks anyway, aren't they?
But listen to the talk in the trains and the bars etc. When they build the scaffold to hang Saddam, make space for Tony - and George - they're ALL war criminals.

No I do not support Blair, never! That said, you would be better off taking the rest of your question to your own Government! Co-operation for the war in Iraq, was a decision taken by our two Governments NOT the British people, many of whom are against the war, and have demonstrated in London, to that effect.YOU may not be grateful for ours troops help, but I'm sure their American counter parts are.Whilst not agreeing with the war in Iraq, our troops are there, doing a very difficult job,and therefore need our support, regardless of the political issues.

I support Mr Blaire 100%, the Iraq war was needed nuclear arms or not, all regimes should be crushed as they do not allow growth for a country, Iraq could be in a much better position if Saddam was crushed 1st time around but it has taken longer and in time things will get better but as any sensible person in this world knows in a situation like Iraq, things must get worse in order to get better, maybe then you fools will show some allegiance to your country.

I am sorry to answer your question with a question but there is no other way.
Do you think either have the brains needed to motivate such an event?

Nope - and after this fiasco in Iraq, never will do. I'm not a great fan of Bush either though, to be fair. IMHO, they're both as bad as the other.

Blair is doing a good job despite criticism from the likes of you, casual observer from the other side of the planet. Neither he nor we kiss the *** of the USofA We are simply joining you in fighting evil which must be fought. We would expect you to do the same for us if '9/11' had happened in London, and in case you hadnt noticed we kind of owe you one. If it wasnt for America we in the british isles would all be typing in German right now. By the way, it should be 11/9, not 9/11. Sort your calendars out. Just because one country agrees with anothers policies doesent mean bumlicking is being perpetrated. Its called cooperation.

blair is a puppet of bush m8!
we can't seem to make any decision without the USA being involved, which is why i no longer support or vote for blairs party.
I have my own thoughts on politics, blair, the green party and the right wing national party in britain.

I definately don't support him. I agree, he does and supports anything bush wants him to. Look at the iraq war... Bush waded in with the army, next thing we know blair promises British troops to join them! 9/11 happened in the US, which led to to the iraq war. So surely its US against Iraq? no, Blair joined in.....
