Not to much since the real meaning of Christmas is becoming taboo.
I heard that the toys for tots rejected a talking Christ doll, because it would offend people. But the people that it would offend have no right to even be recieving those toys since it is for CHRISTMAS.
Quote from the Article
"As a government entity, Marines "don't profess one religion over another," Grein said Tuesday. "We can't take a chance on sending a talking Jesus doll to a Jewish family or a Muslim family." " http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061114/ap_on_re_us/jesus_doll_rejected

Christmas has been reinterpreted, and changed from the first Christmas greatly. Yes Christmas has definately lost its meaning. The world makes it out that Christmas is a time of giving, no religious meaning at all. Most people celebrate Christmas but do they really know why they celebrate it? no. Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, all those things you hear about, its all from pagen religions. Easter has lost its meaning too, but its just not as popular as Christmas because Christmas is a time where everyone gets presents and no one cares about the meaning behind it. I know Christ's birth is the reason for Christmas, but the world doesn't understand, and they never will, they've changed Christmas into something else and they wont try and change it back. its sad i know ... i celebrate christmas for the real reason... its amazing

On some levels, yes it does feel as if Christmas has lost it's true meaning... All I see is santa claus, santa claus and more santa claus... But in all honesty, I know what Christmas is all about, and I don't let it bother me. As long as i remember that this upcoming time of year is to celebrate the birth of Christ, then all is good. I do, at times, struggle with getting caught up in the presents. It stresses me out; having to spend all this money

Actually, the date was adopted. Not "Christ's mass". That is quite distinct in terms of intent.
And yes, the commercialism, the focus on expensive gifts... is a sad departure from the Christmas's I remember as a kid. But in my home Christ is still very much the focus of Christmas... and every other day.

No, the 'true' meaning of Christmas is merely becoming more open and pronounced.
Christmas wasn't celebrated by Jesus' disciples nor the earlier church.
In the fairly recent past Christmas was been banned in England and in the United States because of its many pagan symbols.
(Do a little googling on its symbols and you will see what I mean.)
What some would like associated with Christmas, love for fellow man, should be practiced daily. If you can not love your fellow man whom you can see, how can you love God whom you can not see?
Other than that, the buyers and the sellers love all the holidays, they make lots of money perpetuating those commercial practices.

I celebrate God/Jesus everyday, not just one or two days a year. Keep Christ in your heart and CHRIST mass is always there. Dont let other people dictate your Christmas, go out and spread the word and joy of Christmas

It really depends on who believes in God or not, or even if Christ was the real son of God.
For me, the meaning of Christmas is as simple as this: Love.

It seems like it only when I go to the mall this time of year, but as long as you celebrate it the way you want to with your friends and family, remind the people you are close to what it's all about, I think that's what matters.

The ironic thing is the festival called 'christmas' was adopted by the early christian church from older religions - the same as easter & hallow'en.
