I think Levi just came out with a line whose tag is on a sheet of sandpaper so you can do the destressing yourself. I once ruined a pair of nice jeans by taking a cheese grater to them, (have you heard that suggestion? Don't do it!) and found that sanding them down works a lot better. Try doing it while you're wearing them so you know exactly where you want to make the marks.

you dont, you buy them! well i mean you can try to get a worn out look but youll just ruin them, but heres how you do it, if you want to try.................
1. rub the spot that you want to "wear out" with a stone, like a soft round one, not like all jaggedy and sharp (youll tear the fabric) and then after the material feels like really really soft, start shaving the jeans with a razor! and voila! you have vintage jeans
fabulous!
