Tai Chi is a martial art that is easy to learn the BASICS of. Mastery of it though is something else entirely. Many people don't realize this but Tai Chi is also, when you get more advanced, an effective tool for self defense. The movements are actually fightning movements, just performed somewhat slower.

It has been shown to be an extremely effective tool for preventing injury in older people. It provides a sense of balance and body awareness.

Becoming an expert though is just as difficult as with any martial art.
