Something easy to try: do a Disk Cleanup. Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Diskclean Up. After clking the above, follow screen instructions.
Also: Start / Settings / Control Panel / Internet Options. From there, Delete Cookies, Delete Files, Clear History. (the files you clear are only Temp. files and it is OK to clear these. Reboot and test again. If this does not fix the problem, go to: www.HP.com and look for the tech help link. This is FREE from HP even out of warranty. Send an email stating the problem and the model & S.N. of your computer. You will get free email help and the same tech. will stay with you until the problem is fixed. Good Luck.
NOTE: maybe you should do a Defrag also. This is also under System Tools along with Disk Cleanup.

As for as i can say,it is some spyware or something else running on your comp. As you said you scan everyday, please update your anti virus software with the latest update and then disable system restore and restart in safe mode. Make a complete scan in the safe mode. This should help. It worked me

you might try a registry cleaner it might solve some of your problems. You say it doesn't turn off, or it takes along time for a shutdown. Also try defragmenting, and you also may have to much junk installed, especially on startups.

Check your computer loads the unnecessary or suspicious files at startup, then disable them.

Restart again.

Still can't?

Download Hijackthis and scan your computer and save the logs file
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Then upload your logs file to here
http://www.hijackthis.de
It will tell you details of the log file.

Hope it helps.
