I just won an item and when the listing was active I asked the seller for a price for postage. They said APROXIMATELY $4.90. Now its ended they have sent the invioce and its got $9.80 for postage. Is that close enough or should say something? What should I say to ask them about this or is it considered okay because they did say approximately?

You should send them a reply in the original question that they answered 4.90 to, so that they remember the original shipping quote. If they sell a lot of items and answer a lot of questions sometimes they forget.
Tell them politely that you think there is a mistake on the invoice you recieived, the shipping states double the price they originally quoted you and could they please correct it and you will be happy to complete the transaction.
If the Seller does not fix the problem you should report it to Ebay and ask the seller to cancel the transaction, if you feel that the shipping is too high for the item you purchased..

It depends on what the item you won is. $4.90 is the postage charge for a prepaid envelope that can contain up to 500 grams. If your item was under 500 grams then that is probably the correct charge.
$9.80 seems a bit excessive and is not approx.$4.90!!

I would tell them to put it in the prepaid envelope and you are only going to give them th $4.90. They are not supposed to be making any profit from postage so if they are not scamming you then it should be no problem.

The postage should be what the listing states. The seller shouldn't list the postage price unless he's certain. That is a drastic difference and I think you should mention it to them and they may consider lowering the shipping charge if they want a good feedback.

You can complain to ebay about that. If you still want the item than pay and give them a honest review. I know if I'm sort of pissed I just say I got it and nothing more. People know that if you don't say anything your upset.

You should contact the seller and ask why the change.

When you've heard their side you can decide whether to take it further or just accept it.
