I tried searching for:
\$power
"\$power"

No luck . It just finds sites with the word power...

Google doesn't recognize special characters such as exclamation points, question marks, or the $ signbecause including them in a search would greatly slow the delivery of the search results.

Sorry, but there's currently no way to do that search via Google. They've released the following statement:
"Google doesn't recognize special characters such as exclamation points, question marks, or the @ sign. These types of characters are so common that including them in a search would greatly slow the delivery of the search results."

You can try some other search engine, and hopefully one of them will treat that search correctly.

I didn't know that. Try using this "\" before the $ sign. It's a program thing - maybe it works on their search as well... but it's just a bad guess.
