for the equation 4m-5=3m=7 cannot be solved therefore i will infer that it is plus, since the equal bar can be shifted to it.
4m-5=3m+7
you take away the m, since it is on both sides, so now it will read
4-5=3+7
which is -1=10, and since that does not work, it is -1 does not equal (a / is over = to show this) 10
now i have reread the guidelines and now see i can do another problem, and here it is
4m+2=10
also, since you are practically working backwards to do the equation, you need to the order of operations backwards (now it is add and subtract first, multiply and divide second, exponents third, etc)
you must do the opposite of what is given, for example, when see it is adding two, you subtract two, when you see it is multiplying by 2, divide by 2
whatever you do to one side, you must do on the other side
so
4m+2-2=10-2
4m=8
now since m and 4 are multiplying, you need to divide the 4 to make the m alone
4m divided by 4=8divided by 4
m=2
now to check your work, 4 times 2+2=10 (4 times 2 is eight, and add by two is 10)

you need to get the like variables together on the same side. You do that by doing the opposite of what the variable is to each side.
For this example you would subtract 3m from both sides
4m-3m-5 = 3m-3m-7
=
1m-5 = -7
Now get the 5 to the other side by doing the same thing to it(actaully the opposite since it is a positive)
1m-5+5 = -7 + 5
=
1m = -2
Now you have to get rid of the 1 to keep the m variable by itself(I assume you are solving for m). since it is being multiplied by 1 then you divide both sides by 1 giving you
1m/1 = -2/1
=
m = -2
Also, since it is one m, you don't really need to do that last step, just make the 1 invisible since it is 1m = -2. if it where 2 m's that = -2 then each m would equal 1.

You need to solve for the variable, m.
So, your goal is to get m on one side of the equals sign.
Now, I can't work with the equation you gave because I can't solve 4m - 5 = 3m = 7.
So I'll just pretend it says:
4m - 5 = 3m - 7
So first step is to add 5 to both sides:
4m = 3m - 7 + 5
Simplifying,
4m = 3m -2
Then you need to move the 3m over to the left-hand side of the equation, by subtracting it from both sides:
4m - 3m = -2
Which simplifies to:
m = -2
And there you have it, you have solved for m!
I hope that was helpful.

when you need to show a problem that have an unknow number like n, m, x or something like that, and a real number like 2,4,14...all you need to do is isolate unknow number on a side, and a real number on the other side, like this: 5x-6=3x+12
5x+3x=12+6
8x=18
x=18/8=9/4
I hope you get it.
