Traveling on I-95 between Elizabeth and Rahway, New Jersey. The chemical plants spit out all sorts of sulfides and mercaptans. I make sure the car's vent is on recirculate.

I will uyp teh ante to the wrost smelling state....IOWA..I ride a motrcycle so you are always in tune with the sights and smells as you tour around teh United States...As soon as you enter the state yo immediatley start smelling all the stnech given off by the overlaod of pig farms there....It is absolutely noticeable within the first 10 miles of any entry point into that state...Pig sh*t does not smell good and when you ramp it up by the thousands of gallons of the stuff per pig farm on a hot July day it is very very noticeable

Okay, as odd as this is going to sound, Denver smells like fish. Which is something I completly don't get because it's in the middle of the country in the mountains, not really a ocean getaway. Now, I've been all over the country and encountered some less than pleasant odors, but for some reason the area of denver I stayed in smelt so bad it drove me crazy!!!
No offense to you Denver folks, Lovely town, and I didn't say YOU smell like fish, just your city!

Seoul, South Korea... in fact anywhere in that country. Open sewers do not help a city smell good. Plus, the people there eat partially fermented cabbage with lots of hot spices, which makes their sweat smell really bad. Plus there is all the pollution and such. Its really bad.
Its even worse when you DON'T smell the stink anymore.

Lebo, KS. On my way to visit family, I pass by a pig farm in Lebo, KS. There is the worst smell ever! They breed pigs but if the pigs die they are just left there to rot. ITs disgusting.

My son and I were driving north through New Jersey. My son said "What's that smell?" I answered "I think it's Newark," and it was.
Another time we drove north through most of California and let me tell you -- south Stockton is no treat either.

Marietta, OH was the stinkiest so far. Chillicothe, OH is next in line for that honor.
