How To Calculate 15 Percent

2016-12-30 09:09:57 · answer #3 · answered by wessling 3 · 0 0

I stink at math but can do percentages okay. If I don't have a calculator an easy way I do it in my head- take 10% of the number then take that and cut in in half and add them together.

For example:
Take 100
10% of 100 is 10
half of 10 is 5
10 +5= 15
15% of 100 is 15

here is another

take 80
10% of 80 is 8
half of 8 is 4
8+4 =12
15% of 80 is 12

odd numbers are a little harder but doable

take 75
10% of 75 is 7.5
half of 7.5 is 3.75
7.5+3.75=11.25
so 15% of 75 is 11.25

Hope I explained it okay, and hope it helps.

make the 15 into decimal form which is 0.15. now take any number and times it by 0.15. that's how you get your percentage. for example. If you want to know 15 percent of 100 then times it by 0.15 and you'll get 15. If you are confused how to convert a percentage with a decimal, you move the decimal point 2 times to the left.
