This is a definition of a family:
Two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another, and reside usually in the same dwelling place.
So i reckon your answer would be yes

I really do not know what is a family. The family image that we have is on the TV. I thought I have a "family" My parents were together, Me and my two brothers, and my mom found out my father was cheating on her. He had another woman and another kid. A family will be you and you child, and the moments the two of you are together. A family is the very special bond the two of you will share.
