What if? We know some animals dont enjoy sex. So what would humans be like? would they have a better society, or no soceiy at all? would we have even survived?

If sex wasn't a source of enjoyment, human females would go into "heat", that is there would be biological need for sex, to release hormones, etc into their system. Males would also have to have a "heat" or "rut" for the same reasons. That would be only way we could have survived.
As far as society, you'd either see more cooperating and mingling of the sexes or more like nature the sex's would separation into same sex groups only coming together during the rut.
You know you could really debate this over a cold ale and a long night.

Wonder if animals enjoy sex the way humans do. Humans can also do sex without enjoyment.
If sex is not a source of enjoyment for humans, would all relationships be the same or as lasting; take away sex and what have you left in the relationship. Is this love or should'nt all marriages be based on love - no wonder the high divorce rate.
Can you feel deeply in love with someone without sex in mind?
Is true love hard to find???

Since sex is neccesary for the continual evolution of our **** sapian, or human, species, people would most likely coninue to partake in the act of sex for this very purpose. Even though many times sexual intercourse is only done because it is enjoyable for humans, if it were not pleasing to people, most would still be sexually active especially if they were wanting to continue generations with offspring.
As for a better society, perhaps if sex were not taken so lightly, and was not actually enjoyable, it could create a more informed and less ignorant society. For the younger generations of our time, sex is becoming more and more desiarable, which is leading to teenage pregnancy and STDs. Especially the widespread impact of HIV and AIDS. So in all it could improve our society, but I personally believe, that some of the drive to have sex is definately the part of it being enjoyable.

Granted the word here is "enjoy". Most of the animals you mention who don't "enjoy sex" or closeness, mutual grooming ,etc., have relatively quickly independant offspring. The longer the dependency of offspring, the more long lasting the bond of the parents. The enjoyment of sex is one way to strengthen the bonds and ensure partnership parenting. As pathitically helpless as human offspring are, for so very long a time, those with unbonded parents or at least with out societal support would not survive for long. These days, with the number of children dependent on the gov. for support, it would indicate that humans are becoming more animal like. Less enjoyment, more compulsion, less bonding, more abandonment, less love, more like taking a dump.

Suppose that starting tomorrow, humans will see no joy in sex at all... that's a very interesting question.
It might result in a decline in the world population, but I am not sure it will altogether lead to the end of the human species. Perhaps some would still engage in intercourse purely for the purpose of procration from the sense of duty of making oppsprings to ensure the survival of human species or for the joy of having children around in a family. Maybe the test tube babies would become more common. Human species would survive that way at least.

people would find enjoyment out of something else. and i dont think society would change becauses its already corrupt and yes for the survival of the human race ppl would have still had sex even if they didnt enjoy it. we probably wouldnt have condoms. because if you dont like sex then why protect yourself if you dont plan on havig it again with some other person in a motel 6. ppl would probably have sex to go through the amazing and yet beatiful thing called parenthood. and then later they'll found out that having kids are a pain in the ***.

minus all the ********, if sex was not enjoyable for humans we wouldn't do it. the reason we eat certain foods are because endorphins and our body tell us that we need to. have you ever kissed anyone and felt pleasure? well just like the lips have nerve endings that stimulate our senses so do reproductive organs. darwin may have not been 100 percent correct but evolution does exist and it does for the existence of our species

sex isn't enjoyable for people who had their jewels cut off...and they turned out to be priests and other good samaritans. just look at dogs that get neutered or spade how well-behaved they are compared to when they have thier sex organs in place.
