I'm 26 years old with a highschool education. I'm currently working at a retail store for $6.50 an hour. Unfortunately I don't make much money so i'm living with relatives. I have nothing holding me back from finding a career, moving to a new location, or continuing my education except for money. I'm wanting to start my own business someday far in the future when i'm around 35+ but right now I want to find a better job. What should i do to find a job that can offer me at least 35k a year or more? I'll do anything short of joining the military (except maybe the coast guard and navy). I love art, computers, and technology. Thank you for your input.

I would fill out a FAFSA, you can go on-line to do this, this will allow you financial aide for if you would like to go back to school. Alot of Degrees require Co-Op job opportunities, so you can go to school and work at a lucrative place involving what your degree is toward! Good Luck to you, I am now going to school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography at the ripe old age of 40. So, Anything Goes!

Jamie...whatever you do, let me first wish you the best!

Maybe find out more about Mary Kay Cosmetics. I started when I was 24...I'm now 34, a Sales Director and thrilled with my business! You don't have to wait until you're 35+ to own your own business!!! A business with MK is $100 plus tax and shipping to begin! That gets you $323 worth of retail product plus a couple hundred dollars in educational materials, mirrors, samples etc. MK is completely flexible...you set your own hours. We make 50% of everything we sell! Now you work in retail, imagine earning half of all your sales! We do a lot of our sales on-line via computers...and you do not have to know ANYTHING about make-up and skincare...we teach you all you need to know!!!!
Visit my website...there is a career section...and give me a call if you would like more information.
It may or may not be for you - but you owe it to yourself to find out!!!

You can get many federal grants and loans for going back to school...check out www.fafsa.ed.gov and studentaid.ed.gov
You can get grants and loans and possibly go to school full time, even if you have to relocate. Or, if you work part time you should def be able to find a job paying around $9 from your college.

you should go to school and get an associate's degree or certificate in computers, and as soon as you graduate you would earn 35k+ (and that salary would continue to increase with experience)
