The Cancerian character is the least clear-cut of all those associated with the signs of the zodiac. Cancers are typically home bodies, moody, extremely emotional and sensitive. We tend to take things personally and live in the past. Sometimes we invent insults (we misperceive what people tell us, which makes us extra touchy). We cling onto everything that we hold dear. If we think we love it, watch out. It's not letting let go of. We have death grip claws ;-). Some Cancers are jealous. Most have an inferiority complex. We do have big hearts. We're a giving sign. We like to feel motherly and have a tendency to mother over people (I find myself doing this all the time). We need to feel loved and important. With our moodiness comes what I like to refer to as my Cancer dark side. We get whiny. Sulky. Depressed. Everything in the world is out to get us including ourselves. That's a Cancer at it's worst. Nobody loves us. We don't love ourselves. Woe is us. Cancers are also not very trusting of others. We suspect everyone, everything. When we feel that way, we "retreat" into our "shells" and stay there in our own world until we "recover." I also find myself doing that a lot. Family and what we love is what is most important to us. For that, we're incredibly loyal people once we trust someone.

If you can't tell, I'm a Cancer :-P so I've had a lot of personal experience with this sign :)

However, completely and only based on sun signs, Leos and Cancers are not compatible. Leos are theatrical and out there on center stage, and that can be too much for some quiet Cancers to handle. I know of at least two other couples with a similar sunsign cancer-leo combo who have had lots of compatability problems. And both happen to be a cancer man with a leo woman.
I guess in my view cancer men are moody, secretive, selfish, love themselves too much and are more the takers than the givers. They keep giving to a minimum but expect lots of love, care and attention from their partners. If they dont get it they immediately blame it on their partnres and end up carrying grudges all their life. The fingers never point at themselves and they always end up disappointed in love and life because of their miserly nature. They are also very hard to understand and you need lots of patience to carry this relationship through.
If he finds that he is not getting enough of love within the relationship than he wont hesitate to find it elsewhere.
They are basically dishonest and not trustworthy. They make promises to change but ultimately its the partner who has to.
Not an easy sign to coexist with.

A Cancer man is a natural male horn dog!
He is competitive, intuitive, shrewd, can be loyal, although he has a wandering eye at times. He also has dealt with some paranormal acitivity and possibly has an interest in this realm, which you will find interesting. Cancers are natural born intuitives.
When he states I love you, it isnt a game, although some jerks make it to be. He is family oriented and could be a good dad. He cooks very well and usually has a belly to lose but never will.

If not, expect an icy cold shoulder when stressed or things arent going right. He will confront you if needed but stays away from confrontations generally as he is one whom makes peace with all.
