With apologies to Francis P. Church (The New York Sun, 1897), Yes, mrcool, there is a Santa Claus. He lives in Finnish Lapland and rents his reindeer from the Sami people in Northern Sweden.

Not only is it one of the best movies in American film history, but it is all about Santa. If the Federal Government recognizes Santa as a real person, I guess he must be. Yeah?

SANTA IS REAL!!!!
you may not believe in me, but i would like to tell you that i really got gifts from SANTA from past 3 years. i mean from THE ORIGINAL SANTA...
i hanged socks in night on 24th december on terrace. in the morning, i got the thing i wished for.
and my mother didn't put it, nor any of my family members. i am sure of that. it was only and only Santa!!!!!
so, you will really win the bet!

The spirit of santa claus is real- however he himself is not. As you well know.... I like to think that Santa Claus is real because it is a fun, and exciting way to think of gift giving at holiday time...

If ... we are speaking of The Spirit of Christmas ... then, Yes ... Santa is real!
As to the actual person, I don't know!
Christ (IMHO) is/was real and did/does exist! However, you speak of Santa!
Christmas, however, is the celebration of Jesus Christ's life/birth! Santa was brought into it only recently!

santa was originally saint nicholas, a real person whose actions have been the basis of the xmas spirit for several cewnturies. most of what is known about him is myth, the rest is probably blown entirely out of proportion to his actual deeds.
