Untrue. It is possible to get pregnant any time of the month, including during your period.

Since ovulation may not always be regular, you can get pregnant at any time in your cycle should this occur, including during the menstrual bleeding.

You need to use some kind of birth control no matter where you are in your cycle, and obviously if you are not in a 100% faithful relationship, you need to use a barrier method to reduce the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

You can educate yourself to when your own fertile period is if you are regular and can use a less effective contraceptive method then if you like. (not withdrawal or douching, these are worthless and considered nonmethods.)

You should also buy and have on hand Plan B or another emergency contraceptive regimen should you have unprotected sex or have your contraceptive fail. The sooner taken, the most effective. Don't figure you can just get it in a day or two.

Any natural family planning website or forum will explain ways to calculate when you ovulate and which days are the riskiest. A calendar alone is worthless.

No it is not true. You can have a spontaneous ovulation that is not in tune with your usual ovulation date. So pretty much you can fall pregnant any time. That is why there is contraception available. Even that does not work for everyone either. Some people fall pregnant at the drop of a hat so to speak.

I would be very careful if you are counting on this to be a safe period without precaution if you are not able to take responsibility and care for a baby at this time ;)

Blessings be yours in peace and light

You can also fall pregnant whilst breastfeeding.

I couldn't believe it when the doctor told me I was pregnant back in Jan.2005. My now ex-boyfriend and I, ALWAYS used condoms, the only time we didn't was during my period while in the shower where we both took pleasure of him being able to *** inside me because of it. My gynaecologist said it was then that I got pregnant, so I wouldn't trust a week before, during or a week after for that matter. I later miscarried 9 weeks after due to stress.

Ovulation typically occurs 14 days after the first day of your last period. Pregnancy can occur AROUND that time. Using ovulation prediction by counting days as a form of birth control is called the "Rhythm Method" and is not very effective.

YES! You CANNOT get Pregnant 1 week AFTER your periiod. 2 weeks, yes, but a week...NO.
Here is the deal...
You can ONLY get pregnant DURING "OVULATION". (Which is when we release our thingies, that grasp onto his thingies when he lets em escape for the search...um, yea) LOL 5 DAYS! Which happens..."14 Days After The 1st Day Of Your Last Period...2 Days before That 14th Day & 2 Days After That 14th Day". So...If your period begins on, say...the 1st. Your ovulation will start on the 13th to the 17th. With the "15th" being the 14th day.
(((((((THIS IS BASED ON A 28~DAY CYCLE)))))))
******I WILL TRY TO FIND A SITE THAT GIVES THE OTHER CYCLE TIMES*******
LQQK OUT during those days...if your NOT trying to concieve.
I have SEVERAL children & got pregnant ONLY during THOSE said "5 Days". ;)
THAT is the "Rule Of Thumb". :D
TRUSSTTT MEEEE! LOL

PS: Sorrie to ALL who disagree with me...but, I have 6 kids that are PROOF of this! LOL

GOOD LUCK TO YA!

That is totally not true, actually the week after you period is the best time to get pregnant, because your "eggs" are FRESH.

No that may no longer set in stone. some females have been be attentive to to conceive whilst certainly on their era. so which you're physician is incorrect asserting that it could no longer take place, it is not going, yet no longer impossible, alot of rfile's bypass by potential of the day 14 rule of thumb yet that may no longer absolute the two, it is an assumption made by potential of a 28 day cycle and that ovulation occurs on day 14, which for alot isn't the case, like mine as an occasion, I actually have a 33 day cycle oftentimes and ovulate everywhere from cd13-sixteen so the day 14 rule of thumb is incorrect for me, and your due date is desperate by potential of 40weeks from the 1st day of your final era (LMP) so why he counts 2 weeks from there does not sound precise.

That is the most fertile time. About 14 days after the first day of your period is when most women ovulate. All women differ so it is important to know your own cycle.
