Just wondering how long marijuana shows up on a hair follicle test, and is there any ways to speed up the time?

When a hair is tested, the THC shows up if it entered your system while that hair was growing, no matter how long ago it was. If you haven't had a haircut in six years, for example, anything you did in the last six years is there in your hair.

I own a drug testing company - Salotex Occupational Health. The above answers are correct, THC (mariuana) will stay in the hair shaft until it is cut-off. However, that does mean that it is being tested for. A typical hair test, only tests for the 1.5" closest to your scalp. This 1.5" sample will show any drug use for the past 90 days. Every 1.5" will be able to determine an additional 90 day period. So, if 3" of hair is tested, it will show a 6 month window. Just because you have long hair, or vice versa short hair, it does not mean that the entire strand of hair is tested, unless it is specified for such a purpose. --- a highly uncommon practice.

It stays in your hair as far back as you've ingested it.If you took some today and then cut your hair it would still show up because it is encoded on your hairs dna.Which starts at the hair follicle not at the scalp. You will have to wait some time to make sure it is not in your hair before you cut it. Now I have heard of shampoos that help, but I dont know if they work and they are expensive.
