Green slime? Are you refering to some type of "fix a flat" product to seal up a hole in a tire?

If so, you need to read the tire and see if it says"tubless" or some other wording. If it is a tubless tire, sure, put in the slime to seal the hole if it's not too big.

If you have a tire with a tube in it, you'll need to patch the tube or get a new one.

Slime (never ever use fix-a-flat.... its caustic (rust the heck out of) steel) is basically (slime brand) green goo, mixed with fibers of different sizes... (L&G formulated slime has bigger fibers)
Get a puncture.... the slime immediatly (from the pressure in the tire) gets expelled out the hole, the fibers go with it catching olt to the outside of the hole, filling it, and filling it till it stops it up....

Its good stuff!!

btw, they formulate slime for tubes as well (meaning you can tube the tire, then use it as well)

but the down side is slime is messy to clean up, but not too hard...

I'm in complete agreement with James. I used Slime in tires of my lawnmowers, I'm sure it helped but still got flat tires- don't get discouraged if it doesn't work. I used it as a preventative maintenance tool.

Sounds like you have a hole in your tire and the rain collected and then grew some algae.

Never heard of putting it in there on purpose.
