I get this question quite often from 12 and 13-year-old girls who have only had their periods for a year or less, and are not sexually active. Nothing to freak out about, because it's perfectly normal to have irregular periods until the hormones reach a more stable stage. It's very common in girls your age to be late or even miss a period entirely. Just relax and stop worrying about it. Eventually, you will settle into a more normal routine, where the periods come about the same time every month.

Don't freak out, it is normal to be late. If you are not sexually active don't worry. Sometimes you have a lucky month where you do not start at all or it may come a week or more late. BE PREPARED, when it is late or you skip a month, your next period may seem a little heavier than normal.
Hang in there, don't freak anymore. ;) Your body is still young and adjusting to many changes.
Take care, good luck

hey hey hey! relax! its ok, if your not sexually active and your 12, and only had it for a year than your irregular! its ok, so dont stress out about it 'cause sometimes stress can cause your period on being late! Mine is still irregular and i've had mine for about 3 years now. So its ok, just enjoy life girl! worrying about your period at such a young age isnt good!

dude, its ok. your period is still irregular and if its a week late, dont worry. im 14 and my period sometimes comes almost a month to two months late and im not sexually active either and my mom had the same problem at our ages (she wasnt sexually active). but you should eat more bananas because they are the natural form of birth control. and i mean that it keeps your period on time, but bananas dont keep you from getting pregnant though. and dont freak out. you'll just put more stress and strain on yourself when its not needed. and yea you might want to inform your mom just in case. but if it becomes too frequent you might have to see a gynecologist.

Don't worry, at your age it's common to be irregular. If you're not sexually active then you have nothing to worry about. But if you're still freaking out, can you talk to your mom or another woman?

Exercise seems to get it going sometimes. Go for a long walk, a hike, ride a bike, or do some sit-ups. If you're not sexually active, (sure hope you're not!), I can almost guarantee it will start the following day. I'm not sure why, but it just does!

you are young and your body is still maturing. Your body is still getting use to the fact that you get your period. I went through the same thing when I was your age and for two years after. Do not worry
