why do a lot(not all) of women get angry when we ask them to walk a mile in the opposite genders shoes?
Men at least from the 1960's are conscious of a womens perspective .They may not get the perspective completley but they make the attempt however feeblemineded it might be .

"A little bit of flexibility on both sides would go a long way..." I completely agree...a little more empathy from both sides would go a long way toward mutual understanding. Of course men have challenges that are unique to their gender. It is still not socially acceptable for men to show emotions, and THIS has a lot to do with why men suffer from more mental illness, higher suicide rates, and poorer physical health. Also, society places greater emphasis on men's success in their careers, their social capital is based largely on their professional success. This creates the potential for greater rates of stress (again, going back to poorer mental and physical health), AND effects their standing in family court. It is not that men are not AWARDED custody of their children, men often do not SEEK primary custody because of the sacrifices they would have to make in their careers, if faced with being the sole care-giver of children: working fewer hours, calling in when children are sick, (which is often enough) and turning down promotions that would require longer hours and travel. Not to mention the social bias that still places greater emphasis on the mother as the primary caregiver. Men buy into this, and don't seek custody, which is why the numbers are so skewed in favor of the mother. The courts are not inherently biased toward women, after all most of the judges are still men, and I believe more men would be awarded custody if they sought it. However, most men settle for being "weekend" dads, not because they don't love their children, but simply because it is more socially acceptable for them to do so (and less acceptable for them to sacrifice their careers). This is sad, and, if more men would get primary custody of the children, maybe more women could become CEOs. However, this will require a change in our social values and gender biases.

really why should this question still be asked. It is not necessary! men and women are totally different..right? Hey some women can kick men in the *** with their shoes and most men cannot even fit into our shoes..lol so then why not rephrase this totally clique remark and just simply say hey nobody needs to walk in any ones' shoes except their own we are all individuals and no one should be better than anyone else. I agree with the person who said that some women work harder than men so maybe we are asking the wrong sex to trade shoes!!!

Many women (and men) just kind of think that, for the most part, as humans, women and men wear shoes that aren't all that different; so they find it offensive if someone thinks that men and women are like two different types of aliens who cannot possible ever imagine what it is like to the be the other.

Wow your walking on thin ice with that question . and asking for it too ( smart)
maybe you should walk a mile in a woman's shoes . most men say they wont get a vasectomy and its nothing compared to labor , ( which
.ain't much worst then the 9 months before it )... god made woman the pregnant ones because he knows what wooses men are. a now days woman fight for the rights men have . so what makes you think they cant handle a day in a mans shoe , most woman do it everyday and the woman's work to . im not saying all men are wooses but like woman or any race some are .

Maybe its how you are asking the question. The wording seems to put a gal on the defense.
I think men have terrible expectations put on them. How do they make friends with another guy and get his phone number without sounding gay?
Our culture needs more discussions like this. Try diving right into your facts, instead of instigating an arguement with a vague complaint.

sure, back in my relationship days i assume I did variety of expertise like that when approached through strangers. i imagine in lots of techniques it is healthful as your self esteem is of course not thoroughly tied on your visual attraction. yet. only attempt searching at your self from a stranger's standpoint - what would you imagine about your self, in case you've been only assembly you for the first time? do not presume that all those who famous you straight away attractive is all about the t&a. Do you've an impressive smile? What does the way you costume say about who you're? Do you look healthful and chuffed? severe upkeep or comfortable and pleasant? sure, you're proper to be suspicious and "i love you" in accordance with actual visual attraction really is probable somewhat a lot. yet do not enable it honestly make you indignant - some adult males are able to picking up on seen clues about who you're on short acquaintance and liking what they see, only as some females are.

i don't think you fully understand what women go through on a day to day basis. it's ridiculous when men try to ask us to empathize with them when there are more things women have to go through every day then most men would ever even care to think about.

Surely they would get easily heated up when when you ask the wrong type of question. Normally no woman will get angry for answering a question asked in a way that does not carry any cause for her to get angered.

Perhaps it would have been a good idea to word the question to be more friendly towards women if you wanted them to respond in a constructive manner.
