They'll believe anything you say if you don't say things like "I'm not lying" "I'm telling the truth" and stuff like that. If they say they think your lying don't try to prove them wrong just dismiss it. I got my boss to believe I caught my hand on fire in biology class by not trying to prove myself when they challenged me because it leaves doubt in their minds that you might be telling the truth and they won't fire you over that (then they'd have a potential lawsuit if your hand really were on fire) Or sit on your toilet (for a realistic sound) and call in and tell them you can't make it and if they ask where you are then tell them, this technique has been very efficient (usually they interrupt you before you can go into detail about what your doing on the toilet and say you can have the day off)
