It's a job that people pay for the class for some months, then once completed they get job where they take patients blood samples most of the day.....

I know this sounds weird, but someone familiar with healthcare may know what I'm talking about...any info I can get on this?

Thanks : )

yay! thanks! i knew i could get help from those who are familiar with this. i couldn't get in touch with my sis yet, who's in a nursing program, but she can probably help me out further by letting me practice on her (since she's been sticking everyone else in the family for the last few months!)

thanks again!

it's called a phlebotomist.

check with your local community colleges to see if they offer classes for it. the pay is good and you'll always be able to find a job b/c there is a shortage.

good luck to you

Phlebotomist. My mom returned all black and blue from a blood draw once, and I told her she'd had a phenomenally abominable phlebotomist. She got a laugh out of that, and the bruising resolved in a fairly short time.

The medical name is phlebotomist. The profession is generally that of a lab technician. There's nothing weird about it, as it is a much-needed profession and the pay is fairly good.

phlebotomist. You can also become a medical assistant and legally be able to become a phlebotomist, alson, here in Texas you can go to a 2 week school and get your C.N.A (certified nurses assistant) and be able to draw blood in hospitals.

btw, if you go to school for medical assisting they train you how to do that and some community colleges have classes JUST in phlebotomy if you dont want to go through the whole medical assistant/nursing thing
