It's really hard to choose. There are a lot of players who were considered great yet never won a ring.
First of all, we gotta consider Patrick Ewing. Guy was one of the best centers who ever played the game, and probably the center with the best shooting touch. No ring.
Then, Karl Malone and John Stockton. Dude was one of the best PFs ever and Stockton was an ideal point guard who had unbelievable vision and skills, but they had the misfortune of sharing an era with the great Jordan. No ring, but we will forever remember Stock to Malone in the '90s.
Reggie Miller was the best three-point shooter of all-time. Then again, an era with Jordan is a factor. Close, but no ring.
Charles Barkley was unbelievable. He had the whole package. A great person on the court, an even better person off the court. Still, no ring.
It's too early to declare AI without a ring. He still has about maybe 6 years in the league, and who knows, he might get one.
But for me, Stockton and Malone. One of the best duos in all-time, and future Hall of Famers. They deserve it.

There are many great guys who never won a ring including Charles Barkley, Kevin Garnett, Jason Kidd, Reggie Miller, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Karl Malone, etc. But I think the greatest player who never won it would have to be Kevin Garnett, he's such a great PF and one of the most dominant players in the history of the nba. It's hard to choose one, but I'll take KG. The problem with these guys is that they're great, but their teams were just not good enough or the competition was too much to handle.

In my opinion, it would be the duo of Karl Malone (All-time leader in points) and John Stockton (All-time leader in assists and steals) as the best players who have never won an NBA championship.
Both Malone and Stockton made the NBA finals in 1997 and 1998, only to lose both times to a team led by the man named Michael Jordan.
Hope this helps.

Man, don't know your reference there, to 'Al', off my head, sorry
My opinion, Charles Barkley. He was a gung-ho, aggressive playa all the time, every day, but never got to go to the Finals.
That's Basketball.
In the NFL, I'd have to choose Dan Marino, QB of the Miami Dolphins... a hall of famer, but no ring for all his accomplishments.
In Baseball, without doubt, the best player to never get a Championship Ring is the Spendid Splinter of the Boston Red Sox, Ted Williams. Though, there are so many others also.....
Charles Barkley, basketball
Dan Marino, football
Ted Williams, baseball

Karl Malone definitely. He's the best power forward of all time. I mean look at his accomplishments: * NBA MVP (1997, '99);
* 11-time All-NBA First Team (1988-1999);
* All-NBA Second Team (1988, 2000);
* All-Defensive First Team (1997-99);
* All-Defensive Second Team (1988);
* 14-time All-Star (1988-98, 2000-02);
* NBA All-Rookie Team (1985);
* One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996);
* Two-time Olympic gold medalist (1992, '96).

well, if you mean retireed players, we definitely have to consider 'the Mailman' Karl Malone and his partner in crime, John Stockton.. of course there's Reggie Miller, who retired in still a good shape... active players who have never won a ring but are excellent includes Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki and his best friend Steve Nash.. i still hope they would win a ring someday.

great question. i've had plenty of debates between friends about this, and from an objective standpoint i have to say karl malone. the reason for putting him over sir charles is if you think about the greatest PF to play the game, no one puts barkley over malone. not to mention his endless list of accolades and numerous trips to the finals. to me it's like if you said, who would you want on your starting 5 for the greatest players ever, at the SG position, you're not going to put byron scott or joe dumars over michael jordan, you're just not. in the same light, you're not going to put barkley over malone for deserving a ring.
my beef with those players that are playing now is that they can still win it, so although AI probably won't win it in his prime, he can still pull a gary payton to win a ring in his twilight.

My list is:
Baylor
Malone
Barkley
Ewing
Stockton
Miller
Lanier
Wilkins
Dantley
B. King
Bing
Gervin
"Pistol" Pete
Why do people overlook Elgin Baylor as never winning a title? The year that the Lakers won the title Baylor retired 9 games into the season.
