I hear that there was a country where it is "night time" most of the year. That the people only experience about a months worth of sunlight.

I think its the Antarctic

Nope. I think not.

About the worst you are going to get on Earth is 6 months
of night without daylight, and then 6 months of day and
night. That is because of the tilt of the earth on its axis,
and its orbit around the sun. No spot gets 1/12 exposure
to my knowledge.

The State of Alaska is like that almost, 6 months each way,, not sure of a country.
