Every single night since I can remember i've had nightmares about tornadoes. I've been afraid of them all my life. From January- May of 2005 and 2006 I lived in Kansas which scared me because they have lots of tornadoes. I live back in my home state now and we have tornadoes here too. I've only seen one funnel cloud the whole time I lived in Kansas. I've never been in a tornado or seen an actual tornado. Do these nightmares mean something?

i live in SC and we get hurricanes but i'm not scared of hurricanes. I do know that hurricanes can spin off tornadoes too. Maybe I do need to talk to someone about it.

Maybe they scare you because you know you can't control a tornado. That's when most of us are afraid, when we are in a situation we have no control over.

Sounds like you are just terribly horrified of these storms (rightly so) maybe talking to someone would help a therapist maybe. Make sure you have a plan if one is to strike. Know what to do or where to go.
I live along hurricane alley and not like a tornado I to worry that I will be washed away in a 30ft. surge. It is part of where I live but I am tired of the worry and stress so I plan on
moving
Talk to some one it may help you make a plan and understand them better.
I understand easier said than done

To see a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive?
To dream that you are in a tornado, signifies that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. You will be met with a series of disappointments for the next week or so. Your plans will be filled with complications.
To see several tornadoes in your dream, represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship.

Not really. In your case, those dreams or nightmares are based on actual experience. You are afraid because you have seen it.
However, some people have dreams of tornados could mean changes. In your case, I do believe it is because you have fear about it and actually experienced the horrible scene that causes you dream about it.
Why are you having those dreams you may ask? Minds are tricky. They come when you have unease feeling. They could be symbol of your fear for now. It may lead to something that you are afraid of. You should know what it is. It could be peer pressure, school, work, or etc.

Well... I have never seen a tornado. But I guess if I saw one I would be afraid... However, I feel there are a lot scarier things out there to be afraid of that are more likely to happen to a person, such as hunger, homelessness, violence, people breaking into your home at night while you are in bed, old age, death, crippling car accident, onset of mental illness, nuclear war, terrorist bombings, massive unemployment in the country, a very severe recession/depression, electromagnetic pulse large enough to effect more than half of the country, etc..

I think they just manifest because of your fears. You may want to take some time to sit quietly and write about this fear. From start to finish; when did it start, how does it make you feel, why do you think you have these dreams nightly, is the fear really of tornadoes or of something else in your life (something that is out of control?)
If you need to go deeper, contact a counselor to talk about it.

The meaning of your nightmares lies within you being afraid and the constant thinking daily about it all of your life. Once you start living your daily life without worry and the fear of tornado's your nightmares will go away. What we do and think daily we will dream about.
Good luck to you.

well, dreams and nightmares are usually a hard thing to understand because you don't know the exact meaning of it. i'd say these nightmares could mean something (maybe like a bad omen) but you can't be sure. sorry.
who knows, maybe you're afraid of getting whisked away in one and landing in a foreign land called Oz. Good thing you're not in Kansas anymore.
anyway, i hope those nightmares will stop soon.

Our dreams nearly always mean something else entirely, than what you actually dreamed about. It sounds like you are having some kind of control issue, either you cannot control something, or you feel controlled by something. Good Luck!!!!

i kow this might sound kind of wierd...but ive heard that whatever you dream of reflects on your past life, or what will portray in your life in the future. You can look up some dream analysis sites which may solve your problem according to your question:
