I know this, if you have a hot soda and want it cooled fast. Get a bucket of ice, mix a little water in it, put the soda in the bucket and mix salt into it. The salt melts the ice, turning the water cooler, thus making the soda cooler.

Well I usually put it in the sink and let hot water run over it. It melts pretty fast that way.

On the car or street? Salt or "Icemelt" which can be bought at Walmart in the auto section, usually.
In the house? put warm water on it, or heat it in some way.
