and do their bosses work harder than him... and do their bosses work harder than that guy?

that would seem to be consistant with your ideas?

I know where I work it doesn't work that way? wierd?

my boss leaves early to get in 9 at the golf course and I get stuck with more work?

this is my real question... but it apparently needs a bit more explanation for those not familiar with conservative ideas...

the conservative idea is hard work makes you a success... and so each level of greater success should lead to harder work...

but that's not how it is where I work... so reality doesn't seem to fit with their ideas... I was just wondering if this is a strange occurance at just my work?

convinced: I do work hard... but that has nothing to do with my question...

it's a simple question... I'm assuming by your answer that your boss does work consdierably harder than you do, since you seem to mostly fuss at others and avoid the actual task at hand...

goodtimes: so, conservatives don't believe in hard work? well, that does make more sense from what I've seen... sorry I was so wrong about you guys...

rdyjoe: the color of the sky in my world is blue... so, the point is work hard so you can become a boss and be lazy while making more money than everyone?

Gunny T: oh, is that the way it works... well that's really simple... so, everyone with high education levels are bosses...

that's really weird too... my bosses have the same education level as I do... strange? how did they do that?

not one actual answer so far?

wierd?

I expected many "yes, of course" answers...

Doc: your employees only work 9 am to 2 pm? and you're comparing them to me?

that's a joke... first off... I work MANY, MANY more hours than that... and I do a very good job, unlike the kind of people you seem to hire?

my work day is much more like yours... and my bosses is much more like your employees... funny eh?

thanks for assuming so much, 99 percent no where near correct... but hey, it's what you conservatives do.. .right? you think you know it all, and everyone fits into nice little boxes...

I really don't see how you make it in today's business world with that attitude?

GreaseMon: first off... I wish that's the way it works... to a degree... but maybe one day you will start working and see how much "smarter" the bosses are working... hahaha

does every Republican work at some utopian workplace where everyone that works hard and smart gets promoted and every boss just loves all their employees and gives them raises when they work well?

do any of you actually have jobs?

apparently not by your naive assesments of the work force and of those that are bosses...

and to answer your "ball in my court" question... I would support a fairer workforce... those that just "don't catch on as fast" shouldn't be enslaved to a life of poverty... which you and I both know is true for the vast majority...

I'm willing to give some, as long as everyone gives some...

I'm not jealous... I'm just sick of the BS conservatives give out as "keys to success"... anyone that's worked more than a week and "catches on quickly" realizes that they are about as true as

why is it that I grew up in a poor neighborhood and I don't know one person that "made it"? was everyone just lazy? I know that's not true... was everyone just "not that bright"? I know that's not true too...

just saying "lazy" or "jealous" is indeed the "lazy" way out... where if you do "catch on quick" you know it's far from being true...

and apparently just because I'm not living in a shanty town, I should be happy that the system heavily and blatantly favors the wealthy...

It is not that you work harder, you are to work smarter. You are to take advantage of the opportunities, intelligence, and talents that you have.

For instance, if you remember from your years of education, subjects were easy for some but difficult for others, in other words, not everyone achieved the same results and grades.
Also, there were always those very few who excelled in every subject and rarely studied at all. Does this make them wrong for being that way? Would you prefer they be "dumbed down" or punished for their abilities?

Lets put this in your court. You go out to eat lunch on a Saturday at a fast food restaurant. There is probably someone working there who makes quite a bit less money than you. They are probably working very hard just trying to serve you. What if they said "It is not fair that you are out having fun and can afford to eat here, and I have to work on a Saturday"? What do you believe you should do to make this person feel better about his situation? Will you help cook or serve? Will you give that person a huge 50% tip for their efforts? What do you think is fair?

Again, your question boils down to not so much political or work ethical issues, but why can't I have as much money as the next person? Pure envy, greed and jealousy. If you have been fooled into believing that we are all entitled to the same luxuries regardless of how different we are or what we do, you need to do some research on other countries and how vastly blessed you really are to have a job where you can afford to live in a country where your boss can play golf and YOU can too!

Typical of a liberal (I can safely assume that because you were so blatant to pose this question only to the conservatives), you are confused, naive and without a compass nor the itellect to know how to read one should you be given one by your socialist ideal government...
Here's how it works. I own my own business. That makes me the boss. I pay you to do a job. I don't pay you to question my authority and make snide remarks behind my back. If we are both reasonable and smart, the more money you bring in for me, the more I will pay you. As an employee, chances are, you don't have "The BIG picture." Not having all of the facts, means when as my employee, you make such remarks, I have no problem firing you. You're not high enough up in my food chain to make yourself indespensible. You do stupid things like vote for higher minimum wages. I will tell you that you've been with me for three years. The next guy that comes in will suddenly be making within say, fifty cents an hour what you are currently making. Is that right? Now all of a sudden, you want a raise to reflect the many years of loyal and faithful service you've provided me. I raise your pay. Then I have to raise everyone else's. Now, you have cut into my profit margins suffiently that I can nolonger pay the bills to keep the business running. I have a choice. I either raise the cost of our products or I let some of you go. I raise the price of our products and your wage increase has just been rendered null and void. I let you go and not raise my rates -- I have to be fair to my loyal and faithful customers, your job is gone and you have no money. you blame me, but hey, I was forced into paying higher wages for unskilled labor. I'm just trying to keep my business afloat.
I'm the boss, and I believe in leadership by example. I work harder than you. You show up at 9 with coffee in hand, reaady to sit down and have a chat. I've been going since 5:30am. You will leave around 2. I will leave around 5:30. I will go home and do the book work and write out your paycheck. Because you didn't see me doing physical labor doesn't mean that I don't work as hard as you. It simply means you didn't see everything and drew all of the wrong conclusions. I am the boss. My wife and I own the shop. We are responsible for everything in it. Even your stupid mistakes because you had a few too many the night before, or because you were too busy thinking about that pretty little brunette. And should you get hurt, it's on me. I'm the boss.

You won't get a legitimate answer out of conservatives. convinced, goodtimes, and gunny prove that. I know exactly what you are talking about. Where I work the people that made the least amount of money, work the hardest. The more money that people made and the higher up they were, the less work they do. It makes absolutely no sense. Here's the irony. Conservatives tell you we don't need an increase to minimum wage. Work harder and you will earn more. Now what you and I have seen is that the harder you work in a corporate atmosphere, the less you make. Unfortunately it seems to be not a matter of hard work, but in the corporate world , it is about who you know, or who you are related to, or perhaps even what political party you are associated with.

Good luck with finding an answer.

I have been offered a management position but in no way I'm I going to work 55 to 60 hours a week for a salary. That can only make money and take time away from family. If you don't like your job, ask human resources to print out your job description, and when asked to do more work, give a copy to your boss and walk away.

They're not going to touch this one..........it will throw them into total confusion. Just to think the thought that somebody..........ANYBODY works harder than themselves....LMAO

They'll defend the right of the boss to do what he wants. but never answer that he works harder than they do. Even though he makes much more ..................dare I say!? "MONEY"?

It is the typical boot licking mindset of the neocon goose steppers..........LOL

Uh... If you don't like what the boss that hired you and pays you does...go back to school, and get to be a boss yourself... (or do I just have a bad attitude??)

Consistent with what ideas? Don't beat around the bush. What is your real question?

**********************************************************************

Whether the bosses work harder is irrelevant. The point is they are more productive.

One thing they definately do -NOT- do is whine. It doesn't sound like you're lazy. It is your immature attitude that's holding you back.
