Yes, but it depends on how fast you go on the treadmill. The slower you go, the less likely you will lose weight.

Hi. "Eating right" is an over-simplistic term that can translate into failure to loose weight. Yes eat right, but keep your daily caloric intake at less than what you are burning. It's as simple as that. You must burn up more calories than you consume. It's so simple and yet it seems so hard to do. I have failed in the past and had to learn to keep my portions, SINGLE portions, of each dish and reasonable usually about 4 oz of meat, vegetables, and ONE small dessert. HOLD on to that dessert if you are going to have a snack later that evening. Otherwise forget it. Just stop eating more than you need. After you hold a deficit in calories for a couple months you will slowly lose, but if you don't adhear exactly to your diet it won't work. Starting any dieting should be discussed with a medical doctor before starting. You can keep your portions reasonable at any rate. That alone will cause a loss in weight sometimes - I wish there were an easier answer but this is the truth.
Good luck - make up your mind and do it!!!

Yes if you run on it, and not just walk. People got into this whole walking thing because it was actually physically demanding to run....Imagine that. If you have joint problems though you may want to get yourself a rowing machine or stationary bike. Or hell ride a real bike and get some fresh air while you ride. You may make new friends in the process.
But if you eat right. And i don't mean this the wrong way but cut down on alcoholic beverages and drink plenty of water or Gatorade you should be able to lose those pound and get into shape in no time.

You will lose weight when you burn more calories than you eat. It is that simple. Learn about eating "right" and read labels. The treadmill burns calories. That should do it.
People who lose weight at a moderate to slow pace are more likely to keep it off. Starving yourself slows your metabolism so you burn calories more slowly, not a good idea. Fad diets and pills do not work. You are on the right track.
