Battle of Hastings, one of the few truly DECISIVE battles in history. brought Norman-French to England/Scotland. Norman French makes up almost one third of our language, with the rest dominated by Anglo-Saxon. example: spoon-Anglo, knife-Anglo, fork-Norman French. lol, ik ik bad example, but it's late and im tired. and it's true.
