How would you feel if one was told about you?

I have nothing against a good joke. But some people's humor is lacking. what they think is funny, just isn't.

Dude, the first and last rule of jokes is "is it funny?"
Some of the best are thoroughly disrespectful.
After all the function of humour is to give the soul courage to face the painful things in the life that cannot be overcome. For example, a joke about the President is disrespectful but gives the soul a lift, knowing that he has another 2 years in office about which we can do nothing to stop him.

if they're funny, i laugh, then express my objection if it's really and truly disrespectful. if it's just hurtful, i tell the jerk to shut up.

I'm pretty laid back, and it takes a bit to anger me when it comes to jokes... usually, if it angers me, then it's pretty bad... I usually just frown and think, "That's bad."
