It sounds like you have anxiety, I have that and it shows up in different ways...like being paranoid about certain things. I'm the same way about sleeping in the dark, and there are several other things that I get paranoid about. It does drive me crazy sometimes to feel that way just about everyday, thats why some people get prescription meds or see a psychologist to help them work out their anxieties. I haven't done this yet, but plan to. I think its normal to get paranoid at times, but only you can tell whether its affecting your life enough to want to do something about it.

Well, good luck w/ everything!

i don't think that it is normal to be overly paranoid. you should try to get some help. spiders really don't hurt you. just leave them alone. if you chew your food right you shouldn't choke. sleep with a small night light on, it doesn't hurt. i keep a light on all the time because i get up in the middle of the night to get water or go to the bathroom. nothing wrong in keeping a small light on. as for the rest of the stuff you should talk to a professional to help you

Absolutely not. It sounds like you may have a paranoid/anxiety disorder. You should really speak with your doctor about these issues. Phobias are curable. Good luck!

You should speak to a doctor. There are medications you can take that will balance you out and make you feel more "normal".

Good luck.

some just call it careful....just dont let it consume you..the odds are in your favor that you will be more likely to win the lottery than any of those things you let yourself worry about happening to you..so take a deep breathe....exhale and cut the light off for christ sake - you will rest better..lol

It's not called paranoid, but I'm sure they have a name for your disorder. Maybe it's obsessive compulsive disorder. Whatever you call it, yeah, you're whacked.
