Of course I'd stop eating. After all, that would give me at least three extra hours in the day to do other things (no breakfast, no lunch, no dinner, no snacks, no visits to the toilet, not to mention no more cleaning of the toilet).

heh, you can.
I've personally gone 30 days without any kind of nutrient besides water. Some crazy gurus can live off air and sunlight for months. Any fool can drink fresh squeezed juice and totally thrive, indefinitely. Addiction to hamburgers & etc. is so retarded.
I mean, if I had to choose between life and eating, of course I would choose life. But eating isn't all that, there's so much more to existence than filling a belly with beer and nachos.
If I could do without food, it doesn't mean I'm depressed, I really find more pleasure in other things. If there was a nutritive capsule that could satisfy all my nutritional needs, I'd eat it and go on with my day.
I find about as much pleasure eating as I do urinating. It's kind of long and tedious to be honest. The same with jogging-- fun for about 10 minutes, then it just becomes really boring. Which is why jocks are still ridiculed for their passion in something so completely vapid.

No, I like the taste of things. I don't know if I would want to stop eating ice cream and big macs. I think I would probably limit my eating down to the good stuff though.

How would I know that I don't need food without stopping eating? (the socratic method supports answering questions with questions, I'm trying it).

Why would I deprive myself of something so satisfying? Just because my body would be able to function would I be happy, satisfied? We are here to make the most of our life with limitations of course. To much of anything is not good. Life would be meaningless if there was no pleasure or joy. Peace and love be with you.

Not likely... But I wouldn't have to fit it into my schedule every day either. I'd do if for pure enjoyment.
