I know people drift cars, but I was wondering if anyone actually drifts like they do in that fast and furious Tokyo movie, and if people do actually drift like that could you give me links to real videos of it?

I cannot imagine that there are that many people who really drift like that shown in fast & ferious. Who would want to consistently buy new tires on a daily basis? Who can afford to do that?

Yes people do drift like that in Real life, but mostly in Japan. The first round of the D1 is held in California every year and have some local guy try out for the D1 and they are really good, but nothing like the Japanese. If you want to see more of this try to buy the "Drift Bible" DVD by the real Drift King TK ,it worth the money, he will show you how to drift. But if you want to see just drifting check out OPTION DVD the all over ebay.

Yes, it's possible to really drift like that. The drifting scenes in that movie were performed by real cars using real real drifiting techniques. Most of the drifting is done by drivers of Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) headed by (of course) Rhys Millen (and his dad, Rod Millen). They modified the Evo IX to rear-wheel drive only and changed the steering to increase the angle. Otherwise, the Evo IX is stock albeit w/ paint job and body kit.
If you can find a previous issue of Sports Compact Car there is an issue where they actually test the cars of F&F:TD. Just keep in mind that in a movie they usually have anywhere from 6-12 cars that looks identical but are optimized for different types of driving. It's through editing that you only see one single car.
If you search on YouTube or GoogleVideo you can find thousands of drifting videos.

there are people who drift like the video but not that much becuase you would constantly have to buy new tires and thats just a waste. but yeah people do drift. my friend does drifting. not as crazy as fast in the furious but he does drift. its actually kind of fun
