because they are nice aliens and wanted to give the humans enough heat to live, and knew that if humans found them they would get disected so they are hiding where they know we cant get them... :)

They have tried to scare us away with some cattle mutilations and some selected abdictions. Heck, they even sent Ross Perot after us. The only thing they found that worked was an intense thermonuclear fusion reaction at the center of our solar system.
