I have a signed jersey, what should i do about washing it?

The signature is writen in permanent marker Btw...

I'm with car-craze. Hand wash in cool water and let it air dry. Even permanent marker can sometimes run in the wash.

I would reccomend not washing it. The value is in the signature being in pristine condition. The only option I can think of is to dry clean it or clean around...but these are risky.

Also I don't know the nature of why you want to clean it, but this is a good lesson to be very careful with autographs. I have collected for many years and learned many lessons on what to do and not do based upon stuff like this.

If it is just for you though...I would say clean it, as it it just sentimental for you at this point.

if you are worried about the signature washing out, i just wouldn't wash or wear it. It will probably bleed a little if you wash it once, but I wouldn't wash it too much, or you run the risk of the marker coming out.

I have a signed teeshirt, and washing it doesn't rly do much to the signature. It fades a bit but just don't wash it too much and use a gentle detergent not like, extra duty or something

FRAME IT!!!!
it is very stylish in rooms plus you can sell it in a few years if you want to but when you frame it, the permanent marker won't come out!!!

I agree with strap. I wouldn't wear it or wash it. If you *must* wear it, you can handwash the armpits if you need to. I would keep it for very special occasions only.

I think that it may be best if you have it professionally cleaned. Maybe a drycleaner?

You should trace over it but be careful by doing it,because then you would mess it up.Just go for it and wash it.
