Yes, it burns calories, and will no doubt strengthen your arm and hand .But for the most part, bowling is a social sport ,like billiards and darts, and not one of the big "calorie burners." It will definitely improve your eye-hand coordination. Go for it........and have a diet soda while playing.

It is a social activity.
You do not need math skills because the scorekeeping in now automatic!
Sitting on the couch burns 80 calories per hour.
Bowling burns 180 calories per hour.

everything burns calories..sleeping burns calories.. does it give you a cardio workout..no Does it help with muscle training and endurance, only in your dominant arm, and not really. so if you are thinking of bowling to stay fit.. look at all the fat bowlers out there.

ANYTHING you do that makes your breath race, blood pulse, and your heartbeat speed up burns calories.
And bowling is really fun, and will help you build some muscles in your arms.

sleeping burns calories, but it's not the best form of exercise, and neither is bowling. but, if it's something you'd enjoy, go for it. just don't expect to end the season being in the same shape as someone who plays basketball, soccer, or another sport that requires athleticism

Breathing burns carories...
Bowling is exercise, but usually certain muscles...get a more rounded exercise also
