Really have to spend they money the way they are told or do they just recieve the money and spend it however?

i believe they have to spend it the way the other spouse says, like part of the deal of being on the show

Yes they have to.. the people who run Trading Spouses check in to see how your spending the money.

im sure they have to , i remember the first season it was on the spouses didnt know until they had to sit down and write them before they returned to their spouses. and thats whenthey told their famileys .
it would really suck but by now they should all know the rules.
