5'6 tall??
190 pounds

since you are 5'6 tall you cant go for WR.. and looking at your forty time it is not really what a rb would run... Usually running backs run a 4'5--4'7 fortys... and i dont see you playing lineman at 190 pounds.. usually they are 230-290 pounds and bench allot..i dont know dude the only position you can play is like linebacker but that requires allot of power and you need to be a hard hitter.

jesus christ how many times is this question gonna be asked...cant you ask the coach.......

anyways i get really pissed when i see repetitive questions but i will help you

leg press is nothing....it just builds mass and it for older people who dont wanna injure their backs.....but at 14 its 450 is still quite impressive.......but a mans exercise is the squat........it will help you out much more than leg press....also no matter if you cant bench much just keep working at it and gradually increase......listen for power and football theres 4 exercices you should always have.....bench press...squat....clean and jerks and lastly and deadlift....those exercises work on your whole body and work on more than one body part at a time as well it helps with power

now to answer your real question i would say fb becasue of your powerful legs.....but if your team doesnt need a fullback or qb or rb or wr then i would say linebacker......at 5'6 your probably not a lineman so i would say linebacker

but its up to you.......figure out your talents and what you like then go for it.....the coach will and should put you in a different place if he thinks you would do better there

Do you play soccer? Can you kick the ball? Teams in high school can always use a good kicker.

People have said linebacker but you have to ask yourself if you are agressive enough for that position. You also have to be able to read blocks and move accordingly.

Have you ever looked at fullback? Or possibly looked at guard? Both of those positions require more in the legs that the arms (and I don't care what anyone else says...without good legs you can't play on the line or at fb...you need a solid base to play both those positions).

Have you ever played Jr. High ball or any organized ball? You'd be great as a guard or a fullback in my opinion. You're plenty quick and all you need to learn is how to block and where to block.

Good luck to ya!

Hi Justin,
great question and it's great to see you have an interest in playing a fantastic sport.

You are 14 and still prone to growth: you're body will gain some strength, maybe lose a little balance, you might even change size if you keep taking your vitimins.

Your speed is great for your age and size range.
I would look at Defensive tackle.

But...BIG "BUT" here...
your coach is going to put you where he sees fit to play you.
Whether you feel you can ask him or not.

One way to really make a positive impression on the coach - is to have mom or dad take you to a practice so you can talk to him afterwards.

You'll want coach's email address so you can keep him updated on your progress.

Showing coach your enthusiasm and commitment to being better goes a very long way.

We had a kid that came to practice periodically to help out.
He was too young to play...but he came all the time.
We kind of adopted him.
The next year, he was still a year too young...but his dad bought him equipment and he came to practices...when his dad signed a waiver for him to hit - he started participating in practice.
The next year, when Patrick was "of age" ... he was our most reliable starter as an offensive lineman.

He wanted to know so much about football - he asked us questions through email as to why and how...

well...last year we put the kid at runningback and he started scoring touchdowns.
he will play this year - but he's contacted me personally and he wishes to play linebacker...we'll see...but I will MOST CERTAINLY let him try.

I know I can count on him, I know he wants to play, and I know he will try anything and follow any direction I give him. If I had 10 other players like him...I'd be in the championships with just 11 players.

Good luck - and have fun

Go out for the team and whatever position your coach sees fit for you play it. In the end you have no real say so as to what position to play. Physical stats are only numbers and no one knows how you will grow while in High School. It does not matter how fast or strong you are. At this point the only real question is can you play the game? You will find that out once step on the field.

i would say, what is your fav. position? what seems most interesting to you? then, when you go to the school, try out for that position, if you make it good, if not then ask the coach when you get there...

try out for what you like, my personal opinion, linebacker, fuulback, like others have said...but, before you go, work out your arms, bench, curls, and do squats, that is the ultimate sports workout, squats deteremine how strong your whole body is, and they strengthen your core, a good thing to have while linebacker or fullback.

A lot depends on speed and balance. If you don't have that, it really doesn't matter if you look the part or not.

if you were a little faster, you could be a top level corner too, but you are probably a little on the big side
